Lettinga Associates Foundation (LeAF) is an independent knowledge centre working on the development and implementation of sustainable environmental protection technologies with the aim of (re-)utilisation of valuable compounds in waste and wastewater. LeAF has close ties with Wageningen University and one of its aims is to bridge the gap between research and practical application.
Working with approximately 10 employees, we provide consultancies, designs, trainings and troubleshooting. We also have a well-equipped laboratory for various types of tests. Our areas of expertise and working experience include:
- Anaerobic treatment systems for industrial and municipal wastewaters and wastes;
- Technologies for water recycling or water cascading;
- Technologies for bio-energy production;
- Characterization of wastewaters and wastes: anaerobic biodegradability and degradation test, toxicity tests, etc.;
- Appropriate sanitation systems for developing countries;
- New sanitation systems based on separation at source (DESAR);
- Knowledge transfer;
- Project management.
