Goals
The Lettinga Foundation is an idealistic fund administered by LeAF. The Lettinga Foundation, having basically the same objectives as LeAF, specifically aims at knowledge transfer. As such it wants to stimulate young scientists (PhD) from developing countries and countries in transition to further qualify themselves in the area of sustainable environmental technology in order to improve the implementation of these technologies in their home region.
In addition, the Lettinga Foundation administers the Lettinga Award which is awarded every three years to a project that aims at stimulating innovation in the field of anaerobic technology for wastewater treatment aiming at cleaner production or recycling, sustainable development and/or resource conservation.
Donations
The Lettinga Foundation has been certified by the government as an Institution for Public Welfare (in Dutch: Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling - ANBI); gifts to the Lettinga Foundation are therefore tax deductible, under the provisions applied by the tax department. This means that donations to the Lettinga Foundation can be an interesting option for individuals and companies that want to take corporate social responsibility by contributing to the realization of our aims.
